The Lost Lighthouse A podcast brought to you by the creators of geeky community blog www.thelostlighthouse.com

October 17, 2017

Welcome to Total Reroll Equinox, our new actual play Dungeons and Dragons podcast! We've started in a brand new world created by our DM Ian, with new characters (but returning players from our previous game!), so join us in the world of Saugin as we explore (or try to explore) the land of TarTiir!

We are in the plane of infinite ooze, trying to find the Lich Al'Kazam's phylactery before sealing the rift to this dimension. There are a lot of goblins and gargoyles, and our friend Gloop just died!

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, our fortnightly pop culture news and reviews podcast!

Big News

This week we chat about the Inhumans and Rick and Morty Season 3 trailers. One was good. One wasn't.

Screentime 1 - Baby Driver

This week we chat about 2 films in Screentime, the first being Edgar Wright's Baby Driver. We quickly chat about how brilliant it is, and we don't go deep into spoilers, but if you are worried about them you can skip this chat from 21:25-27:10.

Screentime 2 - Spider-Man Homecoming

We also got the chance to see the latest MCU film (and 6th Spider-Man film), so we chat about that too and what works so well this time. Again, light on spoilers especially as the film is only just out, but if you are worried about any at all then skip 27:10-35:45

Now Playing - Reading/Watching/Playing

Adam - All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders and The Power by Naomi Alderman/Preacher Season 2 on Amazon/Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow on Android and Doom on PS4
Ian - Thrawn by Timothy Zahn and The End of the World Running Club by Adrian J Walker/GLOW on Netflix/The Witcher 3 on PS4

Check out any of those through those Amazon links and we get a kick back! Or you can go through here.

Welcome back to Total Reroll, our Dungeons and Dragons podcast! Adam has been playing some some good old fashioned D&D with some friends in London, except it isn't old fashioned because it's 5th edition. Our DM Ian has been running us through the 'Hoard of the Dragon Queen' storyline, and we picked up a few sessions in with our first episode (we decided to record a bit late, but you can check out some of the previous sessions in Adam's write ups that start here).

In the sixth episode, Red, Artin, Daria, Ravoprax and Nausicaa head off on the open road to pose as guards on a caravan that includes wagons from the dragon cult. They encounter some mushrooms. No problems arise whatsoever.

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about a few things from this year's San Diego Comic Con, including the new Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad footage, Con Man, some behind the scenes clips from Star Wars VII and Ash Vs. Evil Dead, while Gary wishes that Terminator Genisys was worse than it is and Adam hates the concept of love that transcends the space-time continuum.

Agents of SHIELD/Agent Carter Dubsmash (which got even better after we recorded)

If you have any thoughts. questions or opinions anything this week you can as always get in touch through Facebook or on Twitter @lost_lighthouse, email us at thelostlighthouse@live.co.uk or sound off in the 'leave a reply' box at the bottom of the podcast page on the website.

Welcome to the first episode of our Dungeons and Dragons podcast! Adam sits down with some friends in London town to play some good old fashioned D&D, except it isn't old fashioned because it's 5th edition. Our DM Ian has been running us through the 'Hoard of the Dragon Queen' storyline, so we pick up a few sessions in (we decided to record a bit late, but you can check out some of the previous sessions in Adam's write ups that start here).

In this first episode, Eldo, Red, Artin, Ravoprax and Carnicula all introduce their characters and give a bit of background, and DM Ian fills you in on the story so far. Then we head to the Dragon Hatchery, bump in to some hunters and brawl with some cultists and kobolds!
We hope you enjoy Total Reroll Episode 1 (Gary came up with the name, blame him). If you have any feedback please email us at thelostlighthouse@live.co.uk, tweet us @lost_lighthouse or get in touch via our Facebook

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about the PSN and Xbox Live hacks over the holidays, the Ant Man trailer and the Netflix Daredevil show, while Gary finds his favourite film ever and Adam rambles about some of the movies he caught up on over Xmas.

Gary in 60 Seconds looked at the Jatham Statham-led 'In The Name of The King'. How did Gary do?

The main talking point this week was 2015, and everything coming up that we are looking forward to. Along with a nice haul of listener choices too, we chat about the films, games and other nerdy stuff we are most excited about for this year.

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we had a special guest in the form of Kii Smith, our games contributor and resident Nintendian. We all chat about Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror, casting news from the Agent Carter series and Tarantino having entertaining hissy fits, while Adam realises he may be deeply attracted to Jon Hamm, Kii hasn't had a day off since London was invented, and for once Gary is the one who tries to start a feud with a celebrity, only this time it is a celebrated children's author.

Gary in 60 seconds this week was the Sci-Fi classic 'Wing Commander', starring Freddie Prince Jr.

The main talking point this week was the EGX videogames expo that took place in London last weekend, that Adam and Kii were lucky enough to get press passes to attend on the Friday and had the chance to check out a load of upcoming games. They chat about their experience of the expo and their favourite games  they tried out.

If you have any thoughts. questions or opinions anything this week you can as always get in touch through Facebook (put the hyperlink on 'Facebook' https://www.facebook.com/thelostlighthouse) or on Twitter @lost_lighthouse, email us at thelostlighthouse@live.co.uk or sound off in the 'leave a reply' box at the bottom of the podcast page on the website.
