The Lost Lighthouse A podcast brought to you by the creators of geeky community blog www.thelostlighthouse.com

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about both Daredevil trailers, the Fox movie slate, Pacific Rim 2, the Iron Fist casting and the R-rated home entertainment release of Batman Vs Superman, while Gary thinks he's subtly painting in the background and Adam dies in Harrison Ford's arms.

Adam was attempting Gary in 60 Seconds this week, taking on Cowboys vs. Aliens. We didn't have a main talking point because Gary hasn't seen Deadpool yet. Go see Deadpool.

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about Destiny 2, the live action Jungle Book film and Kanye West's video game (that Adam was aggressively harsh about, let's say because he's ill and not because he's a dick). We also talked about the new Daredevil Season 2 trailer, but Skype messed up and the audio was so bad we cut it. Check the trailer if you haven't seen it already. Shockingly we loved it. Meanwhile, Adam was slowly dying and Gary just stood back and watched as he fell into some sort of delirium at the end of the episode.

Short episode this week! After postponing last week because Gary was ill, Adam was struck down this week with something too. We managed to record an episode anyway. You be the judge of whether we should have just taken another week off!

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about the upcoming DC films (including the Wonder Woman footage and the new Suicide Squad trailer), Jessica Jones season 2 and Steven Moffat stepping down as Doctor Who showrunner, while Gary invents 'history charts' and Adam pretends he knows what DC comics' 'Rebirth' is.

Gary in 60 seconds this week was the 1998 classic 'Small Soldiers'. Let's see if Gary can really cut to the heart of the film within a minute!

Our main talking point this week was 'Top 3 inventions in fiction'. This one was a lot of fun, with some great suggestions from all of you on Twitter and Facebook.

This week we chatted about the Captain America: Civil War trailer, the Batman Vs. Superman teaser (the rather spoilery trailer was released after we recorded), Marvel's Secret Wars delays and Kevin Bacon returning to Tremors, while Gary cuts off entire news segments and Adam remembers Kevin Bacon is actually a good actor.

Gary in 60 seconds was ''Pacific Rim', with Gary attempting to take on kaiju and jaegers in under a minute. Keep an eye on twitter for the poll for next time!
This week's main talking point was Jessica Jones, the new dark superhero TV show from Marvel and Netflix. We talk about what we liked (a lot), what we didn't (not much) and how it all fits in the MCU. It's light on spoilers, but if you're worried about finding out anything at all before you watch it then you can skip the second half of the podcast from 32 minutes in, and listen later to see if you agree with us!

This week we chatted about a new Star Trek series, BBC's upcoming His Dark Materials adaptation and the Preacher trailer, while Gary laughs his most real, authentic and hysterical laugh, and Adam interrupts a lot.

Gary in 60 seconds was 'The Thing' (1982), with Gary taking on the creepy sci-fi horror. We'll be putting up a twitter poll today to pick which film Adam should do next time, so make sure you vote in that!
In the spirit of not-Halloween-anymore, for the main talking point this week we talked about our favourite horror films, with some excellent suggestions from all of you.

*Also, the poll results from the Alien 5 or Prometheus 2 twitter poll we set up during the recording ended up being incredibly close with 56% wanting the Neill Blomkamp Alien 5 over 44% wanting Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel, indicating that we are totally misrepresenting our audience! Maybe we should stop ragging on Prometheus so much! Doesn't seem likely.*

This week we chatted about FOX's new X-Men TV shows Hellfire and Legion, the possibility of a Y: The Last Man show and D&Diesel, while Gary's brain melts down and Adam just starts to do his job for him.
The main talking point, inspired by John Walters and the talk of the next Die Hard film being an origin story/prequel/preboot/whatever, is unnecessary prequels! We discuss why the movie industry seems obsessed with churning them out when they seem to be out of ideas, some of the worst offenders and some of your least favourite prequels too!

Any prequels you think are particularly awful? Any you hope to never see? Are there any that you think actually turned out to be good, worthwhile films? Let us know! This week we chat about DC finally crediting Bill Finger on their TV and film projects, Paul Bettany's excellent response to Jason Statham's barbs at the MCU and the weird rumours about Konami halting AAA development (apart from PES) following the extremely well received MGSV: The Phantom Pain, while Gary paints everything and Adam keeps throwing out opinions that do not necessarily represent the opinions of The Lost Lighthouse.
No main talking point or Gary in 60 seconds this week, we were both pretty busy and Gary forgot to pick a film for Adam.

This week we chat about Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige leaving the control of Marvel Entertainment, Ubisoft's theme park plans and WB wanting more Batman in Batman Vs. Superman, while Gary struggles with his own awful handwriting, and Adam gets confused by Force Friday.

For this week's main talking point we talked about this years crop of summer blockbuster films, going into our personal favourite flick and the listeners' favourites too!

Gary took the reins in Gary in 60 Seconds, attempting to summarise Oblivion in less than a minute! Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it, but I'd guess it is largely just more of Tom Cruise running a lot.

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about the Deadpool trailer (finally), Fear the Walking Dead, the continuing pointless saga of Ghost's changing voice actor in Destiny and the cool stuff that came out of D23, like the Rogue One cast and 14 god damn acres of Star Wars lands coming to Disney parks! Meanwhile Gary has a terrible confession about Gotham, and Adam thinks love is bullshit and can't transcend time and space.

For this week's main talking point we talked about the worrying trend of how much studios and websites are sharing from upcoming films. With all the set photos, plot details and multiple trailers, how much is too much when it comes to showing off a film?

We've also brought back Gary in 60 Seconds! This week Adam took a look at Interstellar. There are spoilers, and as this is a relatively recent film if you haven't seen it then skip about 25:00-28:10.

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about Hugh Jackman suiting up as Wolverine one last time, Apocalypse looking like Ivan Ooze, The Killing Joke and Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity again, while Gary gets a listener's name wrong and Adam chastises him for it even though he got it wrong first and was the one reading out the feedback. Sorry Mike!

This week's main talking point was Marvel's Ant-Man. We go in to what we liked about the film (with spoilers so beware!) and some listener feedback too!
